Topic:
Marine Archaeology integrates geology, geophysics, and archaeology to delineate, identify, and assess inundated archaeological sites, such as shipwrecks and prehistoric sites.

Audience:
Geoscientists, engineers, and managers who actively work, contract, or plan marine site
investigation programs for exploration and field development.
Course Summary:
The two-day comprehensive course covers the fundamentals of archaeology, the regulatory
environments in the United States and around the world, the potential for unanticipated
discoveries, and data acquisition through interpretation. The course incorporates four case
studies, illustrating the potential outcomes of an archaeological or geophysical survey.
Recent discoveries in deepwater and the impact of the 3.20 Mitigation will be discussed.
The course is taught by recognized experts in the field that come from a combination of
energy, consulting, and service companies.

The two-day course is scheduled for June 7-8, 2012 from 08:00 to 5:00.
